Hello!
I´m from Germany and in the German forums nobody can help me! I´m sorry, but I can´t speak French, but I hope somebody can answer in English to me. I bought a Laguna 2, Phase 1 from 2003 with the 1.9 DCI with 100 PS (74KW) and now hear about many turbo-problems. I have the following questions:
How critical is the turbo-problem?
Which is the difference between the 100 PS Version and the more powerfull with 120 or 150 PS?
Do the stronger versions use the same turbo?
In Germany my Laguna is an "exotic" car and many people don´t like it because of many problems. I have had my last Renault in 1989, one of the first R19 in Germany and before that a R9GTD and a R5GTS. Before this Laguna I had a C5 for more than 300.000 km. The Laguna is in better condition and I like to drive it. The engine is not strong with the 100 PS and I ask myself if it is normal. My wife have a Passat TDI with 90 PS and it goes much better. Is there any problem which I can look for? There is no warning lamp etc.! I bought it on last monday and testet it from here (near Hannover) to munich, vienna, budapest, then back to bratislava, prague, dresden and back home for 2300 km and the engine took only 5.4 l/100 km. That is quiet a sensation for me, but the power is a little bit "sleepy".
It has now 133.000 km at all and before I started the tour the dealer changed the timing belt and oil (0W40) and filter. It is a good travelling car, but reading the German forums I´m now a little bit afraid because of all the problems. What is your experience with this car and this special engine with 100 PS which you can´t find often in Germany?
Best Regards
Frank
P.S.: If anybody has problems during a drive in Germany, let me know it, if it is not too far away maby I can help!
